         (26k)In this photo, apparently dated October 9, 1978, 4000-series car 4284 sits
at Warehouse Point in Connecticut. They seem to have
restored one of their cars to the green, orange, and salmon
livery. Note the Boston (ex-Dallas) PCC streetcar to the
      right. (Photo by unknown)

         Englewood branch's Loomis
Terminal on an Illini Railroad Club fan trip. The car
poses with a Howard destination board, a "Baseball Today"
sign (indicating a Sox game near the Tech-35th
station) and Amber marker lights (used by Howard - Englewood
trains) in May 1966. (Photo by Jerry

Railway Museum with car 4436 in the summer of 1976. The
cars were shipped on their own wheels to IRM
after their retirement from the CTA, then loaded on flat
cars to go east to the Connecticut
Electric Railway Association (aka Warehouse Point,
see above). The cars did run at IRM
on their own power. (Photo by Peter

         stops at State
& Lake while heading westbound on the Inner Loop
circa the 1950s. At this time, the Loop was operated
uni-directionally (counterclockwise) with Evanston Express and (usually) Ravenswood trains on the Outer Loop and Lake,
Garfield, and Douglas trains on the Inner Loop. (Collection of Joe Testagrose)

Avenue circa the 1950s. Above "L" cars is the C&NW's Oak
Park passenger shed for westbound trains -- the C&NW
used left-hand running -- leaving the Loop. The main
