One of the museum's workhorse cars, 4000-series car 4451 is at the Fox River Trolley Museum on July 3, 2000. The car was in the process of being repaired and repainted. The brown material on the front patched and repaired parts of the rusted and corroded steel exterior and was later panted over. (Photo by Mike Farrell)

A two-car Lake Street All-Stop train made up of 4000-series cars 4365 and 4366 passes through Tower 12 and turns north onto Wabash Avenue after leaving State/Van Buren station in June, 1964. Normally, Lake Street trains operated counterclockwise on the Inner Loop, but here the train is detoured onto the Outer Loop due to track work. (Photo by Jerry Appleman)

A 4000-series car operates at grade approaching Linden at the end of the Evanston Line. The view looks east-southeast from south end of the passenger platform. The rails in foreground are the east pocket track. The 4000s are on the so-called "side track" and it is unusual to see the southerly part of it occupied but the more northerly part vacant. The parking lot is on the land left over from the North Shore Line right-of-way. (Photo from Mike Farrell Collection)

C ar 4103, one of the only Baldie center-door 4000-series cars in existence, sits in the yard of the Fox River Trolley Museum on July 7, 2001. Deterioration had set in before the museum took possession of the car, which CTA had turned into a storage car before selling it. The car is inoperable and in need of serious repair and cleaning.
