This a picture of 1892-1992 (2007-2008) in January of 1999. The cars are stored at the Skokie Shops. The cars were given an 1890s paint scheme for the celebration of the "L"'s 100th anniversary in 1992. These cars are supposed to go to the Pullman neighborhood on Chicago's South Side for inclusion in a planned Pullman museum. (Photos by Eric Zabelny)

On December 6, 1979, 2000-series car 2130 was hit by car 2003-2004 at Harlem yard while making a turn back move. Car 2130 fell over the side of the solid-fill embankment and crushed 4 parked cars, including a brand new 1980 Cadillac. CTA personnel are standing on the embankment, looking in awe at the sight. Although car 2130 was so badly damaged after the above accident at Harlem Yard, car 2003 was more fortunate. On December 8, 1979, it sits in the Skokie Shops and was eventually repaired. (Photo by Peter Vesic)

A two-car Lake "B" train of 2000-series Pullman cars passes the old and new Tower 18 at Lake & Wells in June 1969. The new tower was built to accommodate a reconfiguration of the junction necessitated by the new Dan Ryan Line. By the end of the year, Lake trains would be through-routed to the new Dan Ryan Line. Bicentennial car 1776 -- the "Benjamin Franklin" -- is "Out of Service" at Howard Street on January 26, 1975. Car 1776 is assigned to the West-South Route at this point in its career, but is on a CERA charter here. They and the SOAC cars were involved in an UMTA charter move a few days earlier as well. The "Benjamin Franklin", car 1776 (originally 2175-2176), made several trips on the Loop Shuttle after emerging with its new scheme on October 10, 1974 before returning to its "home rails" on the Lake-Dan Ryan. It is seen here at Randolph/Wabash. (Photo by Art Peterson, Collection of Joe Testagrose)
