Welcome to Chicago-L.org's special section on the CTA's® Douglas Renovation Project.

In October 2001, the Chicago Transit Authority embarked upon their largest, most complex capital improvement project to date: the complete renovation of the Cermak (Douglas) branch of the Blue Line.

The CTA® is calling the project "Renew The Blue"TM, symbolizing their intention to bring this 6.6-mile branch of the system's longest route back into a good state of repair, allowing the agency to provide better, more reliable service to the communities the Douglas branch serves.
